Homeless Nashville

How do you describe being homeless? Growing up in a middle class family, doing all the right things. Then one day, you are on the street. What Happens now?

My Photo
Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Now that I am no longer homeless, I still hope to help others. There are a few who truly want off the streets, out of the soup lines. Back to a "normal" way of living. Everyone who is homeless isn't a bum, nor a criminal. There are those that just need a chance. My first day as a homeless person was April 1st, 1997. From then on its been an unreal experience. Not one I would suggest anyone go thru, but one I know I have learned from. I hope in some way this blog helps you, the reader know a little about me. But more important , I hope it helps you understand a little more about homeless people in general.

Well, sure been awhile since I have been here in cyberspace.
Thanks Aaron, it was good to get the note from you. I have been working, mostly. Fishing alot as well. The Spring has been fantastic here in Middle Tennessee and I have taken advantage of it every chance I could.
The fishing has been awesome. I have 5 farm ponds to myself and from what I can gather, none of them h ave been fished in several years. I have caught some nice bass, in the 4-5 pound range, and have seen much larger ones roaming the banks from time to time.
Love my job. Plain and simple. Its just suited to me. I am usually on my own. most weeks I work 10 hours Monday - Thursday and 5 on Friday. On Fridays I am litterally my myself as I am the only one that works that day right now. Everyone else takes a 3 day fishing weekend.
My life , same thing, its been 180 degrees the turn around in me. I know if I can see it, it has to be! I laugh ALL the time now. Never have a bad day or one that I dont want to get up and go to work. Most days I am up before the alarm goes off, looking forward to the day.
Only dim part is that I still have friends who are homeless and without steady, living wage income. I have written letters( actually letters, you know, the ones you put stamps on!! ) and made calls, done about everything that I can. I can only hope that soon something breaks for them as it has for me.
All in all, life is good, I am happy, healthy and have a little jingle in my pocket.
Till next time, Be safe.
